Effect of Recombinant Human Growth Hormone(rhGH) on the Premotion of Body Weight Gain in the Hypophysectomized Rots

Abstract

|
The growth effect of newly developed recombinant human growth hormone (rHGH, Korea Green Crone Coporation), were examined in hypophysectomized rats. By the reference to European Pharmacopoeia, we examined the increase rate of body weight on hypophysectomized rats treated with lot 1-1 and lot 1-2 of rhGH and somatropin for 4 days. The two groups of rats were administrated twice with 0.02IU and 0.08IU of growth hormone per a day, respectively. The rats treated with rHGH showed significant increase in the increase rate of body weight compared to vehicle treated animals(p$lt;0.01). In addition, the growth rate of body weight was correspond to dose response. In this test, we concluded that the lot 1-1 and 1-2 of rHGH show the effects of increase in body weight on hypophysectomized rats.
